In short: Totality collects no personal data. There are no accounts of our own, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your progress stays on your devices and in your own iCloud, where we can't see it, and Game Center is used only if you sign in to it.
What this policy covers
This policy covers Totality, the game for iPhone and iPad, and this website. “We” and “us” mean Naser Harif, who makes Totality.
What we collect
Nothing. Totality collects no personal data, and no data about how you play. It has no servers or accounts of its own, and it contains no third-party code for advertising, analytics, crash reporting or tracking.
It doesn't ask for your contacts, photos, location, camera or microphone, and it never tracks you across other companies' apps or websites. We don't sell, rent or share anything about you, because we don't have it.
What stays on your device
The game keeps a few things on your device so it can remember them between launches:
- your settings: volumes, soundtrack, vibration, difficulty, left-handed and language;
- the mission you played last;
- how many wins or losses in a row the difficulty suggestion has counted;
- whether you've seen the tips shown on the first launches.
They never leave your device, except inside your own device backups. Deleting the game deletes them.
Your progress and iCloud
If you're signed in to iCloud, the game also keeps your progress in your own iCloud account, so it carries over to your other devices and to a new one. That is:
- the missions you've won, and your best times;
- your runs of wins in Uncharted, and the rival styles you've beaten there;
- when you last reset your progress, so a reset reaches all your devices.
It's kept with Apple's iCloud key-value storage, under your Apple Account, and Apple's privacy policy covers it. We have no access to it. If you're not signed in to iCloud, your progress stays on your device.
Game Center
If you're signed in to Game Center, the game sends your achievements and your leaderboard scores (your longest runs of wins in Uncharted, and the campaign's total time) to Apple's Game Center, under your Game Center profile.
Leaderboards show your Game Center nickname and scores to other players, and to us as the game's developer, as they would to any player. Your Game Center settings in iOS decide who can see your profile and achievements, and Apple's privacy policy covers this data. The game doesn't ask Game Center for your friends, your real name or your email address.
If you aren't signed in, nothing is sent, and the game plays just the same.
What Apple may share with us
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us crash reports and statistics about how the game runs. Apple also tells developers how many people find, download and use their apps, in anonymous totals. None of this identifies you, and Apple's privacy policy covers it.
You can stop sharing at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, by turning off Share With App Developers.
You get Totality from the App Store, and Apple handles the payment. We see sales only as totals, such as how many copies sold in each country, never who bought the game or how they paid.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep nothing, so there's nothing of yours on our side to delete. What the game keeps for you lasts this long:
- On your device: until you delete the game.
- In iCloud: until you tap Reset progress in the game's Settings, which clears your progress on this device and in iCloud, on all your devices. Deleting the game alone leaves your progress in iCloud, so it comes back if you install the game again.
- In Game Center: kept by Apple with your Game Center profile. Reset progress doesn't remove achievements you've earned. To see or delete what Apple holds about you, visit privacy.apple.com.
Your choices
- Play without iCloud: your progress syncs only while you're signed in to iCloud. Without it, the game keeps your progress on your device alone.
- Play without Game Center: you don't need to sign in, and you can sign out at any time in the Settings app. The game then sends nothing to Game Center.
- Start over: Reset progress, in the game's Settings, clears your progress everywhere.
- Stop sharing analytics: turn off Share With App Developers in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR in the European Union and the United Kingdom, or California's privacy laws, give you rights over your personal data: to see it, correct it, delete it, or object to its use. We hold no personal data about you, so there's nothing for us to hand over, correct or delete, but you're welcome to ask us anything. For data Apple holds, such as your iCloud and Game Center data, use privacy.apple.com.
Children
Totality is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal data from anyone, children included, and shows no ads. Parents can manage a child's use of Game Center with Screen Time and Family Sharing.
Security
Your progress in iCloud and your Game Center data are kept by Apple and protected by your Apple Account. This website is served over a secure connection and keeps nothing about you.
This website
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and loads no fonts, scripts or anything else from other sites. The service that hosts it may keep standard access logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for a short time to keep the site running and secure. We don't use them to identify you.
Changes to this policy
If Totality ever handles any other data, we'll update this policy and the game's privacy details on the App Store before that version is released, and ask for your permission in the game wherever it's needed. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
