Totality

Real-time strategy among the stars, in true 3D.

How it plays

One drag to attack

Your stars make ships. Send them out, take the stars around you, and take every rival star to win. Ships fight one for one, so the bigger swarm wins.

  1. 50 % · 24

    Drag to send

Drag from your star to another, and its ships fly there. Send more than the other side has, and the star is yours.

  2. 50 % · 66

    Sweep to gather

Pass over your other stars on the way. Each one joins in, and they all send at once.

  3. 64 / 200

    Out and back to grow

Drag out past your star's ring and back onto it. Its ships go into the star itself and raise its level, or repair it.

Gravity

Bend your fleets round black holes

Turn, zoom and fly through every map in real 3D, and watch your swarms curve round the stars they pass. Skim a black hole to slingshot past it, or fly too close and be torn apart.

The label above your finger shows how many ships will make it, before you let go.

A match in Totality: blue and orange stars with their swarms of ships round a black hole whose glowing disk bends the light behind it.

Living stars

Giants, pulsars and twin suns

Every kind of star changes the fight, and each one reads at a glance.

  • Blue giantThe richest star on the map: it makes ships fast from the moment it's taken, but never grows tougher.
  • Red dwarfSmall, tough and slow to build. A wall to make a stand at, or to go round.
  • Twin sunsTwo stars circling each other. Hold both, and both make ships half again as fast.
  • PulsarA neutron lighthouse nobody owns. Every star in its light gets three ships every four seconds.
  • Black holeBends every route near it, and tears apart the ships that fly too close. Some of them move.
A blue giant, ringed and blazing white, being taken by blue ships, with orange and grey stars round it under a dusty sky.

Rivals

Outplay up to three rivals

Rivals fight you and each other. On Uncharted maps each one plays a style of its own, named at the start, so you can plan against it.

  • RaiderStrikes early and often. Hold firm, then hit the stars it left empty.
  • BuilderBuilds up quietly, then strikes once, hard. Out-expand it early.
  • SpreaderRaces you for every free star. Strike where it's spread thin.
  • OpportunistWaits for you to send, then hits the star you emptied. Keep reserves where it can reach.

Play on Relaxed, Standard or Challenging. After three wins or three losses in a row, the game suggests a notch up or down, and only changes it if you say so.

A four-way battle: blue, orange and crimson stars, their swarms clashing in the middle of the map.

Campaign

29 handmade missions

Six chapters, each bringing in one new thing at a time, with calmer missions between the hard ones. About every third sets a goal of its own: hold the line, race for a giant, or survive five minutes against three rivals.

  1. Training
  2. Giants and Embers
  3. Twins and Lighthouses
  4. The Dark
  5. Wanderers
  6. Chaos

Uncharted

Then a new map every time, made from a fresh seed and never played before. Every side starts the same, and each win adds to your run.

Last Stand, a campaign mission: blue, crimson and orange stars round a pulsar and a black hole, under a brown nebula.

Match report

Every battle, charted

Every match ends with its story: ships built and destroyed, stars taken and lost, and a chart of every fleet across the match. Slide a finger along it to find the moment the tide turned.

The victory card: 1,972 ships built, 199 destroyed, 18 stars taken and none lost, over a chart of both fleets, with Again and Next buttons.

Feel

Made to feel alive

Sound, light and touch, tuned with the same care as the battles.

  • Music made as you play

Four soundtracks, composed live and rising with the battle. Best with headphones.

    • Warm PulseWarm pads over a soft heartbeat
    • DriftSlow and dreamy, notes falling like stars
    • TideA rolling bass in a swaying rhythm
    • NightfallLow and mysterious, a distant drum
  • Sixteen painted skies

A different sky every match: galaxy bands, dust lanes and glowing gas. Dust drifts past as you turn, and black holes bend the starlight behind them.

Captures burst into embers, lost stars fall to ash, and now and then a shooting star crosses the sky.

  • Felt in your hand

A crisp tick for each star you gather, and a softer, rounder tap as the swarm goes. Turn it off in Settings, if you like.
